Raphtalia
ラフタリア
Raphtalia is a demi-human slave purchased by Naofumi who becomes his most loyal companion and sword fighter.
Overview
Raphtalia is the main heroine of The Rising of the Shield Hero. A tanuki-type demi-human orphaned during the first Wave of Calamity and sold into slavery, she is bought as a sickly child by Naofumi Iwatani and becomes his sword, quickly growing into a young woman as she levels up.
Raphtalia is loyal, gentle and firm with Naofumi when his anger threatens to consume him, and she refuses to have her slave crest removed even when given the chance. She later becomes the Katana Hero and reclaims her heritage as a descendant of the rulers of Q'ten Lo.
Her bond with Naofumi and her role as the moral heart of his party made her one of the most popular heroines of her era. She is voiced by Asami Seto in Japanese and Erica Mendez in English.
