Filo

Overview

Filo is a Filolial, a large bird monster, who hatches from an egg bought by Naofumi Iwatani in The Rising of the Shield Hero. Under the Shield Hero's influence she grows rapidly into a Filolial Queen and gains the ability to take the form of a small girl with wings.

Filo pulls Naofumi's carriage, fights with powerful kicks and is endlessly cheerful and hungry. Her rivalry with the spear hero Motoyasu, who becomes obsessed with her, is a running joke, and her friendship with the young Melty Melromarc develops into an important political thread.

Filo's cuteness and enthusiasm provide much of the series' lighter moments. She is voiced by Rina Hidaka in Japanese and Brianna Knickerbocker in English.
