Misa Amane
弥海砂
Misa Amane is a popular idol and the second Kira, devoted to Light Yagami after he avenged her parents' death.
Overview
Misa Amane is a model and pop idol in Death Note, Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata's manga adapted by Madhouse in 2006. After Kira kills the man who murdered her parents, she becomes his devoted follower and obtains her own Death Note from the Shinigami Rem, who cares for her deeply.
Misa makes the trade for Shinigami Eyes, which reveal names and lifespans at the cost of half her remaining life, and she does so twice. She becomes the second Kira, tracks down Light Yagami and is imprisoned and interrogated by L, which forces Light into his most elaborate scheme.
Her gothic-lolita styling and unconditional love for a man who merely uses her made her one of the most recognizable characters of the series. She is voiced by Aya Hirano in Japanese and Shannon Chan-Kent in English.
