Shoyo Hinata is the protagonist of Haikyu!!, a short volleyball player with incredible jumping ability and determination.
Overview
Shoyo Hinata is the protagonist of Haikyu!!, the volleyball manga by Haruichi Furudate adapted by Production I.G from 2014. Despite being far shorter than most players, he is inspired by a televised match featuring the "Little Giant" of Karasuno High and dreams of standing on the same court.
Joining Karasuno, he is paired with Tobio Kageyama, the setter who humiliated him in middle school, and together they develop the quick attack that defines the team's offence. Hinata's explosive jumping and refusal to lose keep him improving through the Interhigh preliminaries and the Spring Tournament.
In the manga's final arc he trains in Brazilian beach volleyball and turns professional, facing Kageyama in the V.League. He is voiced by Ayumu Murase in Japanese and Bryson Baugus in English.
