Tanya Degurechaff
ターニャ・デグレチャフ
Tanya Degurechaff is the protagonist of Saga of Tanya the Evil, a Japanese salaryman reincarnated as a girl in an alternate World War era.
Overview
Tanya Degurechaff is the protagonist of The Saga of Tanya the Evil, Carlo Zen's light-novel series adapted by Studio Nut in 2017. She was once a ruthless Japanese salaryman who was pushed in front of a train and reincarnated by a being he calls "Being X" as an orphan girl in a world resembling early twentieth-century Europe.
Enlisting in the Imperial army as a mage, Tanya rises to command the 203rd Aerial Mage Battalion, becoming a feared ace known as the Devil of the Rhine. Her only goal is a safe rear-line posting, but her competence keeps landing her on the front.
The contrast between her childlike appearance and cold, rational brutality made the series a cult hit, continued in the 2019 film. She is voiced by Aoi Yuki in Japanese and Monica Rial in English.
