Suzaku Kururugi
枢木スザク
Suzaku is an honorary Britannian and Lelouch's childhood friend who becomes his greatest enemy as the pilot of the Lancelot.
Overview
Suzaku Kururugi is the deuteragonist of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and the childhood friend of Lelouch Lamperouge. The son of Japan's last prime minister, he enlists in the Britannian military after the occupation, hoping to change the empire from within rather than through rebellion.
Suzaku becomes the pilot of the Lancelot, the most advanced Knightmare Frame, and later a Knight of the Round, repeatedly clashing with Lelouch's masked alter ego Zero without knowing his identity. His love for Euphemia li Britannia and her death drive the tragedy of the first season.
In the finale he carries out the Zero Requiem, becoming the new Zero, an ending widely considered one of anime's best. He is voiced by Takahiro Sakurai in Japanese and Yuri Lowenthal in English.
