Overview
Senku Ishigami is the protagonist of Dr. Stone, the manga by Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi adapted by TMS Entertainment from 2019. When a mysterious light petrifies all of humanity, Senku counts seconds for over three thousand years until he breaks free, then sets out to rebuild civilization with science.
A scientific prodigy with encyclopedic knowledge, Senku founds the Kingdom of Science, revives allies and recreates everything from antibiotics to cell phones and a steam engine. His conflict with the strongman Tsukasa Shishio over who should be revived is the first major arc, followed by his expedition to find the source of the petrification.
Senku's catchphrase "ten billion percent", his spiky hair and his unusual heroism through invention rather than combat made him a distinctive shonen lead. He is voiced by Yusuke Kobayashi in Japanese and Aaron Dismuke in English.
