Saitama
サイタマ
Saitama is the protagonist of One Punch Man, a hero so powerful he can defeat any enemy with a single punch. Suffering from existential boredom due to his overwhelming strength, his search for a worthy opponent and comedic interactions with other heroes define the series.
Overview
Saitama is the protagonist of One Punch Man, created by the artist ONE and redrawn by Yusuke Murata, with anime seasons by Madhouse (2015) and J.C.Staff (2019). After three years of training he became so strong that he defeats every enemy with a single punch.
Bald and perpetually bored, Saitama joins the Hero Association at the urging of his cyborg disciple Genos, starting in C-Class despite his power. The series parodies superhero and shonen tropes through his search for a worthy opponent.
Saitama lives in an abandoned apartment block in Z-City, keeps a strict budget and is more concerned with supermarket sales than monster attacks. He is voiced by Makoto Furukawa in Japanese and Max Mittelman in English.
