Nanachi
ナナチ
Nanachi is a Hollow (transformed human) who joins Riko and Reg, providing crucial knowledge about the Abyss.
Overview
Nanachi is a rabbit-like Hollow who joins Riko and Reg in Made in Abyss. Once a human child from the northern nation of Serene, Nanachi was taken into the Abyss by the White Whistle Bondrewd and subjected to an experiment with the curse that transformed them and their friend Mitty.
Nanachi lives alone on the fourth layer, tending to Mitty, who has become an immortal, suffering mass. After saving Riko from poisoning, Nanachi asks Reg to end Mitty's life, one of the series' most devastating scenes, and then joins the expedition.
Nanachi's knowledge of the Abyss, dry humour and catchphrase "Nnaa" made them arguably the franchise's most popular character. Nanachi is voiced by Shiori Izawa in Japanese and Brittney Karbowski in English.
