Kaguya Shinomiya
四宮かぐや
Kaguya Shinomiya is the vice president of the student council at Shuchiin Academy in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War. As the daughter of a powerful conglomerate, she is brilliant and skilled, yet struggles with expressing her feelings for Miyuki Shirogane.
Overview
Kaguya Shinomiya is one of the two leads of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Aka Akasaka's romantic comedy manga adapted by A-1 Pictures from 2019. The vice-president of the Shuchiin Academy student council and daughter of one of Japan's wealthiest conglomerate families, she is brilliant, proud and convinced that confessing first means losing.
The series turns her mutual attraction with council president Miyuki Shirogane into a battle of elaborate schemes, each trying to make the other confess. Beneath the ice-queen mask she is sheltered and naive about ordinary life, and her interactions with Chika Fujiwara and her maid Ai Hayasaka reveal a softer side.
Her running "How cute" expressions and the slow-burn payoff in the film The First Kiss That Never Ends made her a favourite of the genre. She is voiced by Aoi Koga in Japanese and Alexis Tipton in English.
