Overview
Fern is Frieren's apprentice and travelling companion in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. Orphaned by war in the Southern Lands, she was raised by the priest Heiter, who asked Frieren to train her in magic.
Fern is a prodigy whose fast, precise casting of ordinary offensive magic outpaces many veteran mages, and she passes the First-Class Mage Exam alongside Frieren. She is composed, practical and quietly disapproving of Frieren's laziness.
Her slow-developing relationship with the warrior Stark, marked by sulking, misread signals and shared birthdays, is a recurring source of comedy. Fern is voiced by Kana Ichinose in Japanese and Jill Harris in English.
