Echidna
エキドナ
Echidna is the Witch of Greed in Re:Zero. She has an insatiable thirst for knowledge and plays a significant role in Subaru's journey.
Overview
Echidna is the Witch of Greed in Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World, one of the seven Witches of Sin who died four hundred years before the story. She appears to Subaru Natsuki inside the Sanctuary in the fourth arc, adapted in the anime's second season, as the host of the tea party that greets those who pass her trials.
Boundlessly curious about all knowledge, Echidna is polite, charming and eager to learn about Subaru's Return by Death, offering him a contract in exchange for the information. She is also manipulative, and her hidden agenda concerning Emilia and the Sanctuary's barrier is a major revelation of the arc.
Her long white hair, black dress and slippery sincerity made her a fan favourite despite limited screen time. She is voiced by Maaya Sakamoto in Japanese and Kira Buckland in English.
