Asta
アスタ
Asta is the protagonist of Black Clover, born without magic in a world of mages but possessing anti-magic abilities.
Overview
Asta is the protagonist of Black Clover, Yuki Tabata's manga adapted by Studio Pierrot from 2017. An orphan raised in the church of Hage village in a world where everyone has magic, he was born with none at all and compensates with relentless physical training.
On his fifteenth birthday he receives a five-leaf grimoire and the Anti-Magic swords that can cut through spells, and he joins the Black Bulls, the Clover Kingdom's rowdiest squad of Magic Knights, under Captain Yami Sukehiro. His power comes from the devil Liebe, who resides in the grimoire.
Asta's shouting, his rivalry with his friend Yuno and his dream of becoming Wizard King make him a classic shonen underdog. He is voiced by Gakuto Kajiwara in Japanese and Dallas Reid in English.
