Rudeus Greyrat
ルーデウス・グレイラット
Rudeus is the protagonist of Mushoku Tensei, a reincarnated man who decides to live his new life without regrets.
Overview
Rudeus Greyrat is the protagonist of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, Rifujin na Magonote's web novel adapted by Studio Bind from 2021. A thirty-four-year-old shut-in who dies saving strangers from a truck, he is reborn with his memories intact into a fantasy world and resolves to live seriously this time.
Rudeus shows prodigious magical talent as a child, learning from the water mage Roxy Migurdia and later tutoring the noble girl Eris Boreas Greyrat. A magical disaster called the Teleport Incident scatters his family across the world, and much of the series follows his journey home and the emotional cost of the losses along the way.
The anime is praised for its world-building and Rudeus' flawed, gradually maturing character, while his perverse tendencies make him divisive. He is voiced by Yumi Uchiyama as a child and Tomokazu Sugita as an adult in Japanese, and by Madeleine Morris and Ben Phillips in English.
