Pochita's contract with the dying Denji in episode 1, after the Zombie Devil kills him. Pochita becomes Denji's heart and gives up its own existence so Denji can live a normal life.

"Do you want to be my dog, or die as a devil?"

Makima's offer to Denji in the first episode, moments after he becomes Chainsaw Man. Her calm control in this scene establishes her as the most dangerous character in the series.

"Bread with jam. A girl. And a normal life. That's all I want."

Denji's pathetically small dreams, listed while crushed by yakuza debt in episode 1. The series repeatedly asks whether even these modest wishes are within reach for someone like him.

Denji's answer when Makima offers him a choice between being killed as a devil or living as her dog. He accepts the leash without hesitation, foreshadowing how Makima controls him for the whole first arc.
